PM leads Thais in show of loyalty to late King | Bangkok Post: news


The prime minister leads cabinet members, political and government officials in singing the national anthem then taking an oath of allegiance to the late King Bhumibol at Government House. (Photo by Seksan Rojjanametakun)Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Tuesday morning led people throughout the country in singing the national anthem and taking an oath of loyalty to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej at Government House and marking the 89th anniversay of his birth. At 7.45am, in an event called the Ruam Phalang Haeng Kwam Phakdi (the United Force of Allegiance), Gen Prayut and about 4,000 people including cabinet members, political and government officials gathered in front of the Thai Khufa Building. After leading the singing of the national anthem at 8am, the prime minister led those attending the ceremony to take an oath of allegiance before the portrait of King Bhumibol. The event was concluded with the attendants singing the royal anthem.
